Practical information

Currency and Credit Cards

The Danish currency is the Krone (DKK), which is subdivided into 100 øre. 100 DKK corresponds per 9 June 2010 to 16.21 US Dollars (USD) and 13.44 Euro (EUR).

Visa, Eurocard, Diners Club, American Express and MasterCard are widely accepted credit cards.

Sales Tax

Sales tax is included in the marked price of merchandise.

Opening Hours for Banks

Banks and ATM machines are located throughout Aalborg. With a few exceptions, banking hours are from 9:30am to 4:00pm, Thursdays to 6:00pm. On Saturdays and Sundays all banks are closed.

Opening Hours for Shops

  • Mondays - Thursdays 10am to 5:30pm
  • Fridays 10am to 7pm
  • Saturdays 10am to 3pm
  • Sundays Closed - you can find a few things open: bakeries, flower and souvenir shops, 7-11.

Weather in Aalborg

The average temperature for Aalborg in October is 12 degrees Celsius during the day and 6 degrees at night-time. There is often sunshine and rain in the same day, so you may want to bring an umbrella just in case.

Taxi services can be pre-booked online at www.aalborg-taxa.dk or by phone +45 9810 1010. The price for at trip from Aalborg Lufthavn to Aalborg City is approximately DKK 150 – depending on traffic. All taxis at Aalborg Taxa accept cash or credit card.
