I. Climate change solutions 1:1 - The city of Aalborg

Excursion, 9 am – 12.

Cities creates climate change problems but are at the same time presenting good opportunities for resolving them due to collective systems.

By the Aalborg Commitments Aalborg Municipality has committed the city to integrate climate change as a central element in all policies for energy, urban planning, transport, waste, agriculture and forestry. Besides implementation of a sustainability strategy with targets concerning climate, nature, health and the environment, the city is having a climate strategy. The visit will present and discuss real-life climate solutions – hereunder climate friendly building (bolig+) and urban planning (Sustainability scoping), recycling of waste and district heating network, and transport planning for pedestrians, cyclist and public transport.
