Learning Exchange

IAIA members, log in to access the Learning Exchange.

Would you like to have the opportunity to develop a relationship with someone in another part of the world that can be used to foster the progress of environmental assessment? During IAIA'96, IAIA launched the Environmental Assessment Learning Exchange. You may or may have not heard of a Learning Exchange, but it can be a very useful team building and capacity development tool. One of the more important roles of the Learning Exchange is to enhance the potential capacity to multiply and increase positive ideas and energy on environmental assessment in a completely objective forum that is free from any preconceived bias or agenda.

Within the context of IAIA and Environmental Assessment, a Learning Exchange participant can:

  • Discuss ideas with you concerning environmental assessment
  • Review for you objectively any draft material that is not confidential
  • Relay any information to on environmental assessment that might be of value to other participants
  • Learn more about environmental assessment in general and the environmental assessment system in the country of the other participants
  • Assist you in the problem solving process

A Learning Exchange participant is not someone who:

  • Uses the relationship for financial or personal gain at the expense of others
  • Does not have empathy and respect for the other participants
  • Uses the relationship to circumvent any recognized, legislated or administrative process
  • Will use the relationship to break any law
  • Does not want to listen or help

IAIA would like to again say that the purpose of the Environmental Assessment Learning Exchange is to foster and nourish positive relationships in the environmental assessment community so that there is an objective and neutral forum in which to discuss, debate and share information on environmental assessment.

IAIA hopes you will enjoy this opportunity and that it will be of benefit to you.
